Private Matwork Pilates
Private tuition ensures the client receives the undivided attention of the teacher. More than just personal training. These sessions take you to a wjole new level and are completely tailored to you.
As a complete beginner to Pilates the initial private class enables you to learn the basic principles of the exercises – the ABC’s. Alignment, Breathing and Core Stability. This one to one session also allows your teacher to get to know your body posture and any current/previous injuries or pains, prescribing the best exercises for you as an individual. It also allows you to develop body awareness and understand how to control your muscle engagement.
It is necessary for complete beginners to attend at least one private class before starting group classes, to form a basic understanding of the principles of Pilates. Additionally some clients may prefer to learn on a 1:1 basis where exercises can be prescribed specifically for the clients individual body type. Clients are likely to progress faster and get a more effective workout targeted at their body during private tuition.
Private classes can be arranged for individuals or for small groups of up to 6 people at Coneyhill Studio.

Studio Equipment - One to One and Group Sessions
Pilates Studio Equipment is designed to enhance the benefits that you can attain through merely performing the Pilates exercises on your own on a mat. Joseph Pilates himself designed or inspired these highly sophisticated pieces of kit.
The equipment utilises pulleys and resistance from the participants own body weight on the machine with graduated levels of springs.
Through variable resistances the studio equipment helps build strength and increase flexibility. The Reformer is probably the most complex and versatile piece of equipment – you can easily perform over one hundred exercises on it. The Pilates Cadillac (or trapeze) was designed by Pilates to help bedridden patients regain their strength, giving very effective results.
Coneyhill Studio is equipped with all the Pilates equipment, including four Reformers, The Cadillac, Chairs, and Ladder Barrel. Our instructors are fully certified and are also teacher trainers.
It is best to try a course of sessions, to allow your body to adapt to change, and correct bad postural habits. If you practise mat work, the equipment will largely improve your ability on the mat.
